So here he was as he walked down the street towards the prince's chosen court. His clan already put others at unease without their numbers suddenly swelling. As well as to help the local chantry seem less likely to be shifting and plotting something. Which would suit him just fine.īut being freshly new in town he felt obligated to make an appearance and to at least say hello and make his presence known to the kindred that ran the city. There was gonna be good weather tomorrow. "Red sky at night a sailor's delight." An old rhyme coming to mind from long ago. Glancing towards the sky he couldn't help but to smile at the red glow in the night. If only to hide the fact that he wasn't as he appeared to be, as well as to hide a few of his usual equipment from mortal eyes. Though he didn't feel the cold he was still dressed as if he had. Hands tugged at the flared up collar of his long coat, as if to ward of the cold air, as he walked along the street. The Brujah Sheriff, Robert Stone leaned against a wall just outside the entry to the building playing the part of security doorman along with two of his ghouls, Randal and Charles. The location as well nestled close by the Inner Harbor and centered in the Hotel District made it an ideal location for feeding as well. The location was discrete on the outside and lavish on the interior. The building being just two blocks up from the Inner Harbor on S Calvert St. The location combined a barbershop, spa, tobacco lounge, speakeasy styled bar/restaurant, and tailor shop across multiple floors. This year like many others the Court would be taking inside a property recently acquired by the Prince himself. The rest of the Court events would me limited to maintain security and safety of its members. Most Kindred would only be required to attend the first of the year events, unless their position or status deemed otherwise. The second night would be more for actual business and serious matters of politics, conflicts, and finance. So the year festivities would be continued regardless. Despite the continued harassments by the surrounding Sabbat forces the Prince still felt that some sort of continued celebration was good for moral. A time to catch up on friends and acquaintances, make connections, introduce new residences, or settle old debts quietly before the need to involve higher ranking Kindred. The first night was purely for social interaction, mingling, and other wise celebration among the Kindred of Charm City. The first of the year's was generally always a two night gala event. Tonight was the first scheduled night of Court for the New Year. A faint reddish hue hung in the night sky around the circle of where the celestial body would normally be. The new moon huge in the sky over the city as well, removing that little bit of extra illumination where the street lamps and other lights failed to fall. The below freezing temperatures working quickly to ice over where the water would settle and created dangerous conditions for anyone foolish enough to risk going out and this time of night. The tide crashed enough to send its salty waves up on the pier and its docked residents. General CommentFirst Verse: My life is ending now, and looking back, I realize that I missed out on things I should have done because I was seeking perfect, fool-proof, failure free, guaranteed opportunities.
